There are no letters from Solly written in July or August 1945. Instead, I am posting these Holocaust photos my father kept in a small shoe box in the bottom of a drawer. He brought these home with him.

The last letter sent home in this series was June 29th, 1945, nearly 10 weeks ago, and the longest lapse in letters home since Solly arrived in Europe. Censorship is much more relaxed and Solly begins thinking his chances are good that he will be shipped to the Pacific now that the war in Europe is over. He also begins thinking about his future when he does get sent home.
